The medical community has now acknowledged what the rest of us always knew: chocolate is good for us. And it's about time, in my opinion.

A recent study in medicine found that cocoa has several health benefits. How could anybody in their right mind have missed this? I've been aware of the health advantages of chocolate for a long time since I belong to the Old England Journal of Homemade Cures and Potions. This newspaper ran a number of delicious articles praising chocolate for years. I've consumed every bit of it, along with many chocolate boxes.

This brings me to a scary idea. I am glad for the growth of modern health and science, but what I really want to know is this: if the medical establishment was wrong about chocolate, what else are they wrong about? Could it be that my long-held fears about broccoli were correct? Has the medical establishment, which has long bragged about broccoli's nutritional benefits, been proven wrong?

Given recent findings, I believe this is a serious possibility.

For years, I've been arguing that broccoli is bad for you and chocolate is healthy. It seems that I have been half right, and I believe that another few years will establish that I am completely correct on both matters.

Because I was correct about chocolate, I'm not willing to risk being wrong about broccoli. I suggest eating as much chocolate as possible while avoiding broccoli in any and all forms.

Given these latest findings about chocolate, I thought I'd share my knowledge on how to enjoy it. Most individuals are unaware of how to consume chocolate since they have long believed that it is unhealthy.

I present myself as an expert in the art of eating chocolate, and I have the empty boxes to back up my claim.

Before I get into my chocolate eating suggestions, I'd like to point out that the chocolate chip cookie is the ideal host for the rookie chocolate eater. Each chocolate chip cookie has the appropriate quantity of chocolate for the individual who has been without chocolate for so many years.

Start with a chocolate chip cookie to ensure you're on the safe side of this situation. To calculate the appropriate number of cookies, divide your weight by your height (in inches) and multiply by your age.

Because chocolate is a relatively new food category for most people, allow me to provide a few pointers as you go on your journey into the wonderful world of chocolate.

You may like

1. When you start eating chocolate, take one mouthful at a time. This is vital. Do not give in to the desire to take double or treble bites as you begin. As you get more experience with chocolate, you may develop an interest in this aspect of chocolate consumption.

2. If you have a covered chocolate bar, remember to open it and let it breathe like great wine. Many individuals succumb to the temptation of tearing open a candy bar and instantly taking a piece. This is incorrect. Chocolate is fragile and must be properly nourished in order to enjoy its full taste for as long as possible.

3. When chewing chocolate, one must be very cautious. Each mouthful of chocolate must be eaten at least 12 times to honor the cacao seed, which sacrificed itself for your tasty gift.

Consuming chocolate is a leisurely, contemplative, and loving experience. Perhaps many people believed that chocolate was bad for them because they ate it too quickly.

I choked on a chocolate bar after just 11 chews. I learned my lesson the hard way, and I now fully appreciate the delicate nature of chocolate.

4. One more point that I believe is quite essential. Chocolate should always be consumed when you are alone, for a very good reason. When eating chocolate, a person's complete attention should be focused on the process of eating and appreciating the rich chocolate taste. Any distraction, even the presence of a loved one, detracts from the whole experience.

When you consider the whole chocolate industry, it almost seems like a holy experience.

The only authentic religious experience is to know God as he intends to be known. Most individuals hurry through religion with little thought. Of fact, they never fully profit from their religious experience.

David recognized this notion when he said, "Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the heathen and in the earth." (Psalm 46:10, KJV)

In today's fast-paced world, it is almost hard to find the time or space to be down long enough to really feel God's presence. We have time for everything but this.

Perhaps people give God a poor reputation because, for many years, chocolate was given a terrible rap as well. To really understand chocolate is to adore chocolate.

I really feel the same may be said of God. The individual who takes the time to come to know God grows to comprehend God and, as a result, loves Him.
